About Me

Let's Get To Know Me

My interest in small business ownership began at an early age. As a kid, I ran lemonade stands, sold computer games to friends, and operated a car detailing business from home throughout college.

During this time, I also had a front-row seat to entrepreneurship through my parents, who built and operated three small businesses in the Chicagoland area. Their ventures not only provided for our family—they also gave them the flexibility to be deeply involved in my life. From field trips to after-school activities, their presence left a lasting impression on my life. I also saw the challenges: a failed business, a failed partnership, and the perseverance it took to rebuild. Those experiences shaped my understanding of both the rewards and realities of business ownership.

Today, I’m building on that foundation through Toribio Acquisitions, with the goal of acquiring and operating a great small business in the Chicago area. I currently own a 25-year-old home service business, lead Windy City REI, a real estate networking group with over 1,000 members, and work on a per-diem basis as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

My doctorate-prepared clinical training has sharpened skills that carry over into business—managing high-stakes decisions, staying organized, fostering relationships, and maintaining calm under pressure. My approach to business is hands-on, relationship-driven, and grounded in long-term thinking. I’m not seeking to flip or radically overhaul a business—I’m looking to preserve what’s working, build upon it, and continue serving employees, customers, and the broader community with care and integrity.

I grew up in Skokie, Illinois, and am a proud graduate of Niles North High School. I now live in Morton Grove with my wife Angela and our daughter Olivia, where we hope to create the same kind of grounded, family-centered life I was fortunate to grow up with.
